    Critical Works (1910–2011)

Writings against the teaching of Russell, his successors or the Society, from the 1910s to the 21st century: Protestant ministers and theologians who answered Millennial Dawn and "Russellism" in Russell's lifetime and in the 1920s (Ross, Eaton, Gray, Haldeman, Forrest, Stevens, Ridout, Stump, Conner, Shields and others); Catholic replies to Rutherford's attacks on the Church (Edward Lodge Curran, 1940) and of the 1960s (a Knights of Columbus booklet, 1963); the documents of the 1917 split after Russell's death; exposures of the Rutherford era; outside studies of Jehovah's Witnesses from the 1950s–60s (Talbot, Pike, Rogerson); and accounts by former members, including Raymond Franz, a member of the Governing Body until 1980, Barbara Anderson, Carl Olof Jonsson and the correspondence of James Zimmerman with the Society. They are included because they are part of the historical record; the Society answered many of them in its own publications, which are in this archive.

These works were not published by the Watch Tower Society; see the Related Works section page for why they are in this library.
